Sadly, so many negative comments on the boards about his annnouncement yesterday. Heavens, does it matter he has money? Or that it is early in the disease so he can be happy, not like later?

PD is terrible and it doesn’t matter who is diagnosed...each person’s journey still leads him/her down the path to a horrible existence...for the PWP and the caregivers and families.

Bless each of us as we all do our best to cope.

Hello JCoff, I agree with you. The money does not matter. Sure, it will allow him to pay for help and a coach for boxing, but it will not change the fact that the path ahead of him is hard. I also think the emotional toll for someone who has had a lot of success can be incredibly difficult--especially at the stage where you know how you have been and what lies ahead. Would folks feel any different about this story if rather than still being relatively happy he had committed suicide like so many?

I don't wish this path on anyone regardless of their wealth or other life circumstance.

Lynn, my name is Jane, feel free to use it😀 I agree with you, too. PD is tough, no matter how wealthy, how young, or how old...it is a disease that only takes.
