For those of you who ask about PD and the benefits of exercise...here is a validation of Rock Steady Boxing...

Carl has had PD for almost ten years, but only started boxing about a year ago. He started walking before that, but found it boring...Then, we asked his neuro about Rock Steady...he recommended it.

We drive 104 miles round trip, twice a week, to attend two 1 1/2 hour sessions, but after almost a year, he did this...

He just completed a 5K (3.2 miles) to support Parkinson’s research through Rock Steady. He did it in 45 minutes, 13 times around a high school track!

But, he wasn’t alone! There were eight others who completed the 5K and several who walked a mile! These are all people who have noticeable tremors, walk with walkers or canes, and one who made it around a quarter of a mile as others passed by!

So...does Rock Steady help? Yes! If nothing else, there is a definite sense of unity that transcends PD...they were encouraging each other and laughing with each other...true joy!

I have witnessed how this program has benefited a great many of those involved.
