We went to see mom's local neurologist yesterday. (She has two. One out of town for her DBS, and basically for everything now. But we still see her local one every six months or a year also.)
...
Anyway, this was the first time he gave me the impression that we were at the end of the road. He was not aware of the Vyalev pump because it is too new, but he is aware of it now.
...
Mom has been able to cross her arms and stand from the chair in the doctor's office every since her DBS, but she couldn't do it yesterday (well, she sort of did it with help from me and the doctor). We did do a lot of leg exercises the day before, but even when we do those, I try to get her to stand once without pushing with her arms, and she hasn't been able to do it without help anymore.
...
I woke up an hour early this morning, and although I didn't feel as intensely the way I did when I realized dad's heart failure returned and he probably wouldn't live much longer, the feeling was very similar.
...
Right now I don't think the Memantine is working, and may be making her confusion and hallucinations worse. But I can't be sure yet. I hate to give up on another pill too soon, so will probably get to the target dose Friday. I just don't want to go through another month or two of side effects if it's not going to be a net benefit.
...
Just a little scared this morning. Usually I can set that aside, but it's creeping in more than usual.
...
Edit: I got home just after 3 and she was doing really well. It's been almost an hour and she's still doing well. Night and day from yesterday, and I have no idea why. Hope it stays that way tomorrow.

She did slow down some after I posted yesterday. I guess I might try to increase the regular sinemet hourly tonight and see if that helps.
