I'm not sure what next steps should be taken with my husband now. Here's what happened: He had surgery on his left hand about 2 weeks ago, he kept picking at the bandage even though I told him multiple times to leave it alone, This is right around the time he was hallucinating due to the increased carbo-levo that his neurologist prescribed. So he started taking the lower dosage, but he was still confused about where he was and he would wake me up at 3 or 4 in the morning trying to get dressed. I had to call our son over and between the two of us we were able to get him back in bed.

SOO Thursday we went to the office of the hand surgeon we just got out of the car and were walking across the parking lot when he fell. People came running out (including the de we going to see) I thought they could just lift him up and we could continue in. But they asked him if he hurt his neck and he said yes. So they called 911 and an ambulance (and firetruck) showed up. They put a neck brace on him and transported him to the nearest Emergency Room a few blocks down the street.

I thought they would do a few tests and release him in a few hrs but they tried to get him out of bed and he was pretty wobbly so they said "We're going to have to keep you here tonight for observation" While he was in the ER he was somewhat confused not sure where he was, thinking he heard things, etc. and he kept trying to get out of bed. Of course he wasn't allowed to and he kept making the alarm go off, and they would come rushing in and put him back in bed.

So they admitted him Thursday. My son and I went to visit him last night. He is confused about some things. Like he said he "just got two new coffee pots for the firestation" (he was a firefighter for 27 years) But he was fine with other stuff he knew who we were and what day it was (but not the year)

So he's still there today - I'm trying to find out how long they're gonna keep him and exactly what their gonna do for him but I called this morning and they haven't called me back. I can't stay with him because we are SWAMPED here at the store (we are having a chlorine sale) and of coursr we are short-handed.

My question is when they release him back home what should I do to get him some help here at home? Do any of you have suggestions on what works for you PWP.

Mom hallucinates and gets timelines confused. Sometimes it correlates with too much meds, and other times it's just random. On the way home from turning her Vyalev pump up a week ago Thursday, she had two hours in the car that were mostly very strange. She was noticing all the trees in the forest beside the freeway, and said those were some really big trunks on those trees. When I said they were all small trees by the freeway, she said they wouldn't allow big trees because they couldn't afford health insurance. I said, "The big trees can't afford health insurance, huh?" She said no and then went on and on about it.

Well the doctor at the hospital where he is just called me (finally!) They adjusted his medicine (Increased his Seraquill) He's recommending re-hab also. I appreciate any prayers you can send my way. Prayers right back to all of you as well.
